Got life?

Got life?Have you ever wondered if this is all there is to life? No matter who we are, what we do, or how much stuff we have, we all have an instinctive realization that there must be more than this. But many of us are never able to figure out what that more is because we're looking in the wrong place.

The truth is, there is more than this. The Bible makes clear that we can have eternal life, which is far more than just life after death. It's a better, more fulfilling, more real life right here, right now.

How is that possible? Quite simply, God fills us up and shifts our focus from the failures, demands, and questions of life to the certainty that He is working in and through us.

How do you get it? Well, the first step is realizing that you're missing it. You see, all of us have what the Bible calls sin. We've all done stuff that we knew wasn't quite right, and that sin broke our relationship with God. It needs to be fixed.

So the second step is to do what the Bible calls repent. In essence, this is us sincerely apologizing to God for the sin in our lives and resolving to stop doing what we know hurts Him. If we will do that, God promises that He will forgive us and grant us the gift of real, eternal life. Like any gift, though, there's one more thing that has to be done.

We have to receive it. This is us actually accepting eternal life and making it our own. To do this, we have to believe that God can and does save us, and we have to start trying to live always-better lives for Him.

That means studying the Bible and doing what it says. The Bible is God's love letter to you, and His handbook for eternal life. It means also starting to pray. Prayer is nothing more than a conversation with God, just like you would have with your best friend. And it means, thirdly, going to a Bible-believing, -teaching and -preaching church. Nowhere else can you find the support and instruction you'll need as you live your newfound eternal life.

And in case you were wondering, DHWC can help you with all three of these things. We look forward to helping you discover what more there is!
